The Minister of Mining and Energy, Dubravka Đedović Handanović, held a meeting with Nataša Lečić, the Acting General Director of Transnaft AD Pančevo, to discuss the progress of the Serbia-Hungary oil pipeline construction project.
Đedović Handanović emphasized that the development of the oil pipeline between Serbia and Hungary is a significant step toward enhancing the security of oil supply to the domestic market. “The start of construction is planned by the end of this year. Diversification of supply is crucial for our energy security, both in the gas and oil sectors. The Serbia-Hungary oil pipeline will contribute to long-term supply stability,” she said. She also mentioned that there has been visible progress in the preparation of the project-technical documentation, with regular communication between expert teams from both countries to monitor the project’s progress on both sections and coordinate further activities.
During the meeting, it was noted that the Conceptual Solution, Conceptual Project, and justification study have already been completed. The spatial plan for the special purpose area has passed public inspection and is currently in the adoption process. The construction permit is expected by the end of this year, with the completion of the full project and technical documentation also expected by then. The works are expected to be completed by 2027.
