Serbia offers 120 million dinars in incentives for solar panel installations on public buildings

The Ministry of Mining and Energy has announced a public call for local governments to install solar panels on buildings of public significance, with a total funding pool of 120 million dinars. Minister Dubravka Đedović Handanović highlighted that local self-government units can receive up to 90 percent of the project costs covered by state incentives.

The initiative aims to support at least 20 public buildings in obtaining new solar power installations to help meet their energy needs. The minister emphasized the goal of encouraging local governments to invest more in renewable energy, reduce energy costs, and contribute to environmental sustainability.

The application period for this public call, managed by the Directorate for Financing and Encouraging Energy Efficiency within the Ministry, will remain open until November 8, 2024. A list of cities and municipalities that will receive incentives for solar power installations on public buildings is expected to be released by mid-November.
