Serbia opens tender for supervision of Novi Beograd station and bridge renovation project

The Ministry of Construction, Transport, and Infrastructure has launched a tender for expert supervision over the construction of the Novi Beograd railway station complex and the reconstruction of its bridge structure.

The supervision period extends until December 31, 2026, covering all phases of work execution, inspection, handover, final accounting, and reporting. The selected contractor will remain engaged until the Commission for Technical Inspection issues a positive opinion and verification certificates.

The station complex will include a multi-story building with commercial and technical spaces, a public square, a GSP terminal, and a vestibule under the railway bridge that connects platforms and other transport modes. The total area of the new structures will be approximately 17,000 m².

Previously, construction activities had reportedly begun without a building permit, raising concerns among citizen groups. However, an official agreement for the project was signed in October 2023 between former Minister Goran Vesić and Shandong’s European director, Wei Jiming. The total contract value is €138 million, with €70 million allocated for the new station and €40 million for bridge reconstruction.

The value of the public procurement for expert supervision is approximately RSD 981 million (excluding VAT), and bids can be submitted until May 13.
