Serbia’s telecommunications infrastructure, encompassing internet quality and mobile services, is comparable to that of the European Union and even exceeds many member states. According to Telekom Srbija, the country is a leader in the Western Balkan region.
The latest United Nations report on e-governance development ranks Serbia highest in infrastructure among 193 nations. This achievement is largely due to significant investments by Telekom in optical internet and mobile networks since 2018.
With an impressive index of 0.92, Serbia matches the performance of major EU economies like Germany and France, outperforming countries such as Slovenia, Croatia, and Bulgaria. Serbian citizens benefit from internet and mobile services that rival those in these nations.
Looking ahead, Telekom plans to launch a 5G network by 2025, which is expected to further strengthen Serbia’s position within Europe.
