The company Zhejiang Windey Co. was selected as the preferred supplier of wind turbines for the Košava phase II, Tower 2 and Ram wind farm projects, jointly implemented by Fintel Energija and MK Group, as well as for the Tower 3 and Tower 4 projects, executed by Fintel Energija. LTD, MK Grupa announced today.
The contract, as specified, includes the procurement of 28 wind turbines with a total capacity of 110 MW.
It is emphasized that this is also a ten-year service and maintenance contract, which started the implementation of these five new green energy projects on the territory of Serbia.
“A significant step in the construction of wind farms is the conclusion of the contract with the company Windey, a global leader with the most modern solutions when it comes to wind energy. With these new projects, we further increase the value of our portfolio and continue to develop RES infrastructure in Serbia,” said the executive director of Fintel Energija. Tiziano Govannetti.
The general director of MK Group, Mihailo Janković, stated that the projects of renewable energy sources, developed by MK Group, have a total capacity of 1 GW.
“The conclusion of this contract is another confirmation that our company sees RES in the long term as a strategically important area in which it will continue to invest. In this way, at the same time, we provide strong support to the Government of Serbia in achieving the goal of increasing the share of energy from renewable sources to 2040 at least 40 percent,” said Janković.
The regional director of the Overseas Business Division of Zhejiang Windey Kai Wang said that his company is honored to be chosen as the preferred supplier for the Košava wind farms Phase II, Ram, Tower 2, 3 and 4, as well as the trust placed in it by Fintel Energija and MK Group.
“We are excited to be involved in these Serbian projects that lead the wind industry in the Balkans and we want to position ourselves in the region as a leader when it comes to wind turbines,” said Kai Wang.
He added that his company is committed to contributing to Serbia’s goals in the field of clean energy, in close partnership with Fintel Energy.
It is also recalled that Fintel Energija and MK Group have been among the leading companies in the production of electricity from wind in the Balkans for a decade.
The partnership has so far built three wind farms in Vojvodina – Kula, La Piccolina and Košava, with a total capacity of close to 90MW, in which 150 million euros have been invested.
