Minister of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning Oliver Dulic said that at the Investment Forum “Serbia” held in Austria our country presented the project for a regional landfill, recycling centres and investment opportunities in the recycling industry.

Dulic said in a statement to the agency Tanjug that the meeting in Vienna, organised by chambers of commerce of Austria and Serbia, is an opportunity to present the investment in “green economy” and the possibilities for creating new jobs.

Our intention is to employ 10,000 people in “green economy” by the end of this government’s mandate, the Minister said and added that already 7,000 have been employed, primarily in the recycling and waste separation.

There is a huge potential for investment in the field of biomass, biomass collection and production of pellets, he said.

Dulic said that the Austrians are very active in the environmental field and expressed hope that a large number of Austrian entrepreneurs will decide to invest in Serbia.

In the past two and a half years we created a significant part of specific projects that are now ready for investment. We found the sources of funding, and of course there are projects that require public-private partnership, for which Austrian companies showed great interest, noted the Minister.
