Serbia, Prices slightly increased in May, inflation remains stable

The prices of personal consumption products and services in May, compared to April, increased by 0.9 percent on average, while consumer prices in May, compared to the same month of the previous year, increased by 14.8 percent, the Republic Institute announced today for statistics.

Compared to December 2022, consumer prices in May increased by 5.3 percent. Looking at the main groups of products and services, compared to April, increases in the prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels were recorded in May by 2.6 percent, clothing and footwear 1.7 percent, food and soft drinks 1.4 percent, restaurant and hotel services 1.3 percent.

Increases were also recorded in the field of health by 0.7 percent, followed by alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 0.4 percent and recreation and culture by 0.3 percent. The drop in prices was recorded in transport and amounted to 1.7 percent and in the communications sector 0.1 percent, while the prices of other products and services did not change significantly, reports Tanjug.
