Serbia receives €1.2bn in international donor assistance last year

Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Bozidar Djelic and Director of the EU Integration Office Milica Delevic met on Friday with representatives of embassies and international agencies that have so far provided developmental assistance to our country.

The donors have been presented with two documents: the Report on implementation of international development assistance in 2010 and the Needs of the Republic of Serbia for international assistance in 2011-2013.

Djelic recalled that the total international aid in 2010 amounted to approximately €1.2 billion, which is the highest amount since 2000.

This result is primarily a consequence of significant increase in concessional loans, which amounted to a total of €722.21 million.

Those were mainly the project financed from loans negotiated in previous years through contracts with the European Investment Bank, the World Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Federal Republic of Germany.

Also, grants in 2010 reached the highest value since 2002 standing at €494.79 million.
