Tourism in Serbia grows by 5.8% in December 2024, with more foreign visitors

According to data from the Republic Statistical Office of Serbia, in December of last year, the country recorded 331,692 tourist arrivals, a 5.8% increase compared to December 2023. Notably, the number of foreign visitors exceeded that of domestic tourists.

There were 184,134 foreign tourists and 147,558 domestic visitors, who collectively achieved 883,037 overnight stays. Foreign tourists accounted for 486,975 of these stays, while domestic tourists contributed 396,062. In December, 40,543 tourists visited spas, with the three most popular being Vrnjačka Banja with 14,104 visitors, Vrdnik with 6,992, and Sokobanja with 5,714 tourists.

Mountain resorts attracted 77,389 tourists, with the highest numbers visiting Zlatibor (34,950), followed by Kopaonik (19,169), and Fruška Gora (7,048). Other destinations saw 222,207 visitors, with over half, 126,137, heading to Belgrade.

Among cities, Novi Sad ranked second with 16,900 visitors, while Niš placed third with 11,177 tourists.
