Serbia’s construction sector continues to thrive, with Belgrade remaining the largest construction hub in the country. Housing and infrastructure investments are increasing across the nation.
In February 2025, 1,817 building permits were issued, marking a 1.1% rise compared to the same period the previous year, according to data from the Republic Institute of Statistics.
Among the issued permits, 82.8% were for buildings, while 17.2% were for other types of structures. When focusing on building permits, 81.2% were issued for residential buildings, and 18.8% for non-residential ones. A significant portion of permits for other structures was related to pipelines, communication lines, and electrical infrastructure, accounting for 73.2% of the total.
