Serbia`s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic stated yesterday that Serbia will continue to promote relations with countries of Latin America and Caribbean countries, as well as with the Organisation of American States (OAS).
Addressing participants of the OAS General Assembly in San Salvador, he said that the organisation has promoted democracy, peace and development, as well as the rule of law for more than a century.
The Minister thanked the Foreign Minister of Salvador Hugo Martinez for the excellent organisation of this event and the hospitality.
He recalled that part of the relations with the OAS dates back to the period of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
Jeremic invited participants of the meeting to attend a special ministerial meeting of NAM in Belgrade in September, which will mark the 50th anniversary of the first NAM summit.
Serbia fully supports the efforts of the OAS in the fight against organised crime, said the Minister, noting that several successful joint operations against drug smugglers were carried out.
As for the issue of Kosovo-Metohija, the Minister called on the countries of the OAS that have not recognised the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo, to retain a reserved attitude.
He stressed that it would contribute to maintaining a healthy international environment within which the negotiations of Serbia and Pristina will be able to continue and ultimately produce a comprehensive solution acceptable to both parties.
Serbia is strongly committed to the position that all differences are resolved at the negotiating table.
The Minister also reminded of the revelations contained in a disturbing report of Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on the illegal trade in human organs in Kosovo.

Jeremic stressed that all other crimes committed in the context of the Kosovo conflict must be explored and investigated under the auspices of the UN.
