Serbian GDP in Q1 grows as much as 8.2%

In Q12008, real growth of gross domestic product was 8.2% compared to the same period 2007, said the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia.

Transport (2.5%), financial mediation (1.4%) and trade (1.2%) sectors contributed to GDP growth most.

Observed by sectors, the highest growth in Q1 is registered by transport 20.9%, financial mediation 18.3%, trade 11.8%, electric energy 10.9%, extraction of ore and stone 9.5%, construction sector 4.3% and manufacturing industry 3.9%.

The growth of GDP in Serbia has been twice faster than in Croatia where it amounted to 4.3%.
