Dušan Bajatović, the General Director of Srbijagas, announced that the price of gas for households will remain unchanged as it is regulated. He also mentioned that there would be minimal adjustments to prices for the industrial sector, despite their variable nature. Bajatović revealed that the planned maintenance of the gas hub in Gospođinci, which was set to include valve replacements, has been postponed until spring. This maintenance had raised concerns about potential gas shortages or supply disruptions in several municipalities within Vojvodina.
He emphasized that, contrary to previous announcements, both Transportgas and Srbijagas will be canceling the maintenance of the Gospođinci gas hub, ensuring that there will be no interruptions in the gas supply across Vojvodina.
Regarding gas pricing, Bajatović reiterated his earlier forecast, stating that gas prices are expected to range between €35 and €45 per megawatt hour.
On the topic of the gas market, he noted that declining oil prices may lead to a decrease in gas prices as well, but advised against relying solely on this trend. He also indicated potential issues with gas transportation through Ukraine.
“The supply of gas is mostly secured, and discussions with Russian suppliers regarding additional quantities are still ongoing,” said Bajatović.
He anticipates that negotiations with Gazprom will commence in the first quarter of next year, although current discussions will only be preliminary.
Bajatović highlighted that the contract with Azerbaijan reflects their commitment to diversifying gas sources, but pointed out that Azerbaijan lacks sufficient gas quantities for their needs.
