The President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Marko Čadež, announced at the Hamburg Conference on Sustainability that Serbia and Germany have established a partnership for a new investment cycle extending to 2040, anticipating direct investments of up to €40 billion. These investments will primarily focus on new technologies, electric vehicles, and e-mobility. The collaboration, alongside Serbia’s accession to the Global Alliance for Batteries, could boost Serbia’s GDP growth by as much as seven percent annually.
Siniša Mitrović, head of the Center for Circular Economy at PKS, emphasized that this investment cycle will also facilitate improvements in waste and wastewater management, leading to cleaner air and land, job creation in the green sector, and the development of new educational programs. He stressed the importance of moving towards Industry 6.0, which is digital, smart and energy-efficient, requiring significant knowledge transfer.
The green transition will significantly benefit Serbian citizens through enhanced air quality, better access to drinking water, and improved waste management. By 2040, more than 370 wastewater treatment plants are projected to be built.
Elixir Group highlighted its commitment to green transformation by initiating the “Prahovo 2027” investment cycle, aiming to decarbonize production and create a modern, energy-efficient industrial-chemical park. This initiative is expected to generate over 200 jobs by the end of 2027, particularly for engineers, aligning with their vision of “engineering in action.”
