Serbia’s ICT sector achieves 20% growth, emphasizing ethical tech development

The Minister of Information and Telecommunications, Dejan Ristić, announced today that Serbia has made significant strides in digitization and the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector, achieving a remarkable growth rate of 20.29% in the first seven months of this year. Speaking at the regional conference “Digital 2024”, hosted by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS), Ristić credited both current and past governments for these “impressive results.”

According to Ristić, the ICT sector now employs 12.2% of the workforce and contributes 6.8% to the country’s GDP. He emphasized that these achievements are the result of dedicated efforts from individuals, institutions, and supportive legislation.

The average salary in the ICT sector stands at around 250,000 dinars, reflecting the sector’s growth. “We will continue to grow, we will continue to progress,” Ristić affirmed.
