Submission of bids for Telekom Srbije until March 31

The deadline for submission of binding offers for acquisition of Telekom – February 21, will be extended by the Government of Serbia until March 31, daily paper Blic learns. This information has also been confirmed by the Ministry of Finance. The main reason is that potential buyers Deutsche Telekom and France Telekom have not provided the funds for acquisition yet, a well-informed source close to the Government told Blic.

People at the Ministry of Telecommunications confirmed for Blic that the task force for sale of Telekom had voted in favor of extension of the deadline for submission of binding offers, while people at the Ministry of Finance said that the deadline would be extended for about 45 days.

– The deadline is extended not because of the Russian company and America Movil, which are run by billionaires, but because of Deutsche Telekom and France Telekom – says the source of Blic.
