New infrastructure near old barrack
This year, within the scope of the technology parks project, the firms of two German investors – Dunker Motoren and Norma Group, should start operating and another two big investors are expected to arrive – says Branko Guslov, the Director of Subotica-based public company Industrial and Technology Park.
– Concrete works on formation of this industrial zone started with the procurement of former barracks, when the city obtained a total of 144 ha of its own land, which was an important condition, along with the free zone within the housing project Mali Bajmok, for attracting foreign capital. This year, the infrastructure works on that territory are planned to be finished and, thus, mark the end of preparations for new investment projects – says Guslov.
– When it comes to Dunker Motoren, the Director of Technology Park pointed out that that company would soon move all of its production units to Subotica, which would create an opportunity for employment of about 50 people, while the same number of people would get jobs one year later. The other investor – Norma Group, is currently working on construction of a production hall where components for the automotive industry will be produced. The first shipment for export is expected to be ready already in early June – says Guslov.
