The number of Chinese tourists in Serbia increased by as much as 230 percent

Uroš Kandić, the State Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism and Youth, stated that in 2023, China was the fastest-growing source market for foreign guests visiting Serbia, with an increase in arrivals of 230 percent compared to the previous year.

“In the first 11 months of last year, Serbia was visited by 85 thousand Chinese tourists, marking a 230 percent increase compared to the same period the previous year. They generated 260 thousand overnight stays, which is 62 percent more than in 2022,” said Kandić.

He emphasized, during a meeting with the cultural advisor at the Embassy of China, Tang Dasheng, that last year’s overnight stay figures surpassed the results from the record-breaking year of 2019 when Chinese guests were the most numerous in Serbia.
