Trade exchange between Serbia and China in 2022 exceeded EUR 5 billion

The total trade exchange between Serbia and the People’s Republic of China, for the first 10 months of this year, is more than EUR 5 billion, and exports from Serbia to China, for the same period, are more than one billion dollars, Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade Tomislav Momirović said today.

After the meeting with the Chamber of Chinese Companies in Serbia, Momirović assessed that the economic relations between the two countries are at a very high level, pointing to the fact that in 2012 Serbia’s exports to China amounted to slightly more than six million dollars, and that it was in the top 10 months this year exceeded one billion dollars, according to the website of the Government of Serbia.

Liu Kai, Economic and Commercial Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of China in Serbia. he said that more and more Chinese companies are present in Serbia, and that economic and trade cooperation is a key area of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Serbia.

– This partnership has developed significantly in recent years and brought tangible benefits to the two nations. We hope that economic and trade cooperation will deepen even more at all levels – Kai said.

General Director of CRBC in Belgrade Yang Dong pointed out that the Chamber of Commerce of Chinese Companies includes 47 large Chinese companies operating in Serbia.

– We can say that these companies have a significant impact on the economic development of Serbia, and the share of Chinese companies in the trade exchange of Serbia is about 20% – said Dong.

He added that out of the 10 largest exporters in Serbia, the first three are Chinese companies and expressed the expectation that cooperation will be even better in the coming year.
