Turkish investor to open textile factory in Mali Zvornik, reviving former Kayra factory site

A Turkish investor is set to launch a textile production factory in Mali Zvornik, in the former Kayra factory space located in Donje Naselje. The business premises, which include the Old Saw Mill buildings, land and part of the transformer station, have been leased for a period of 25 years, as announced by the local government.

The lease agreement was signed by Zoran Jevtić, the president of the municipality, and Javuz Çifçi, the owner of Any Textile, a company that was registered in Serbia in September of last year, according to Telegraf.

The new production facility is expected to employ a total of 120 workers within the next two years, with an initial plan to hire 40 people.

“We have leased business premises, including the Old Saw Mill buildings, land for its regular use, and part of the transformer station, located at Svetosavska Street number 47, to a Turkish investor who plans to manufacture textile fabric and clothing. The properties, which are in public ownership, were leased through an advertisement for a period of 25 years. The lessee is required to pay a monthly rent of 254,000 dinars plus VAT,” stated the municipal president. He added that the lessee is obligated to pay two rent installments in advance, and preparations for the factory’s opening and the commencement of production are expected to begin soon.

It is worth noting that the Turkish textile factory, Kayra Textile, which the new factory in Mali Zvornik will operate in, ceased its operations in January of last year.
