Agreement on Strategic Cooperation in energy between the U.S. and Serbia to be signed

The U.S. State Department has announced that a Strategic Energy Cooperation Agreement between the United States and Serbia will be signed on September 18, in Washington.

The ceremony will feature speeches by Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić and U.S. Under Secretary for Economic Growth, Energy and the Environment, Jose V. Fernandez.

The agreement is expected to “expand opportunities for American companies to invest in Serbia’s energy sector, promote American investments, and strengthen the relationship between the U.S. and Serbia,” according to the announcement.

After the signing, journalists will have access to Đurić’s concluding remarks, while Fernandez’s statement will be recorded and posted online following the event.
