Sirmium Steel smelter worth 35 million euros soon in operation – Production of steel beams in Sremska Mitrovica starts

Currently the biggest greenfield investment in Sremska Mitrovica – Sirmium Steel smelter, will be put in operation on September 15th – Mayor Branislav Nedimovic told Tanjug.

Italians invested total of 35 million euros in the smelter, which will be processing iron as a semi-finished product, while the primary product portfolio will include steal beams that are used in construction.

The production is primarily intended for foreign market.

Sirmium Steel will first have 250 workers, while expansion of production capacities and increase in number of employees are in the pipeline.
