Spanish-Italian consortium to build new Zezelj Bridge

A contract on the construction of the Zezelj Bridge over the Danube in Novi Sad will be signed Tuesday with the Spanish-Italian consortium, made up of AZVI and Horta Coslada from Spain and Tadei from Italy.

A contract on the construction of the Zezelj Bridge over the Danube in Novi Sad will be signed Tuesday with the Spanish-Italian consortium, made up of AZVI and Horta Coslada from Spain and Tadei from Italy.

The entire job is worth EUR 45.3 million and the new bridge should be up in 32 months, announced the Serbian Railways.

The contract will be signed at the Vojvodina government offices, in the presence of Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic, by Head of the EU Delegation in Serbia Vincent Degert, Vojvodina Prime Minister Bojan Pajtic, Novi Sad Mayor Igor Pavlicic, Serbian Railways CEO Milovan Markovic and AZVI representative Jose Alejandro Serrano.

The rebuilding of the Zezelj Brigde, torn down during the NATO bombing in 1999, is co-financed by the European Union, the Province of Vojvodina and the City of Novi Sad, while the Serbian Railways has taken on the rights and obligations of the investor on behalf of the state of Serbia.
